Contact is an organisation for families with disabled children, and is the national group that supports the delivery of parent carer forums in England.  On their website, you can find information about parent participation, their campaigns to tackle inequalities, and advice about support available, including workshops and information sessions for you to access. 


Cerebra is an organisation offering research-driven, evidence-based advice to children with brain conditions and their families. Advice ranges from legal and financial to support with physical and mental health issues. Their website has a range of free guides, including a really useful and informative 'Guide to the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in England and Wales'.


Special Needs Jungle (SNJ) is a parent led not-for-profit organisation that aims to empower parents and carers of children with SEND to understand and navigate the special needs system more easily. Their website has a range of easy-to-understand resources, articles and material that informs parent carers about what they need to know in order to enable them to confidently self-advocate for their young person.


SOS!SEN is an independent organisation dedicated to empowering parents, young people and carers about their rights and entitlement in the area of education, health and care. They give legally based advice and guidance on navigating the educational system and offer a helpline, webinars, and information booklets.


IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Educational Advice) is a registered charity offering free and independent legally based information, advice, and support to help get the right education for children and young people with disability and/or special educational needs. Their website has a range of free legal guides, resources and template letters to help you understand your child’s rights and how to advocate for them. They also have a helpline and offer paid training on SEND law.


Carers Collective An organisation which aims to empower and support carers. They provide coaching and resources to manage stress, burnout and day-to-day life. 


SIBS is a UK charity for siblings of disabled children or adults. They have information and advice for siblings and their parents about how to help support their own feelings and needs within the family.


MENCAP is the 'voice of learning disability'. They have a wealth of information and advice on their website about a range of topics, including education, health, housing and relationships. They promote inclusivity and offer signposting, as well as information about research and campaigns.


Council for Disabled Children is part of the national children's bureau offering free impartial confidential information, advice and support for young people and parents/carers of children with SEND. Advice is available for all aspects of education and the current legal framework. They also have an inclusion service, a post-16 service and independent supporters for young people with a Statement of educational needs or Educational Health and Care Plan. 


Scope is a disability charity for England and Wales focussing on equality. Providing practical information and emotional support, as well as information on current campaigns aimed to create a more inclusive society.


Mind is a mental health charity which offers support and advice to people of all ages who are experiencing mental health difficulties. Their website has a range of information about various mental health illnesses and treatment options. They also offer support online and in-person, and Hull has its own branch too.


Barnardo's is a charity that aims to protect the most vulnerable children, their website has a range of information and support links, as well as details about their campaigns and upcoming strategies.
