Our SEND Reform Consultation Response has been submitted
Thank you to every parent carer who shared their views, experiences and concerns with us. Whether you completed a survey, spoke to us at an event, sent us a message, emailed us, or shared part of your family’s story your voice helped shape our response.
We have used what families told us to submit a strong, evidence-informed response to the government’s SEND reform consultation.
We know this is an anxious and uncertain time for many families.
Please know that we will continue to share what parent carers are telling us, both locally and nationally, and make sure families’ lived experiences are heard in the conversations that follow. Locally, we will continue working with the Local Authority, health partners and other services so that parent carer voices are included in local SEND reform planning. Submitting this response is an important milestone, but our work does not stop here.
There will be more opportunities for families to share their views, raise concerns, and help shape what happens next. Together, we are stronger. Our children and young people deserve the best possible support, not just in policy documents, but in real life, in schools, services, health care, social care, and their communities.
That is why parent carer voices matter so much. When families speak together, we can help show what is really happening, what needs to change, and what good support should look like.
Please keep talking to us. Tell us what is working, what is not working, and what life is really like for your family.
Families can also continue sharing their experiences directly with local MPs and decision-makers. Personal stories and lived experiences remain incredibly important in helping people understand the realities families are facing within the SEND system.
Thank you again to everyone who contributed.
