On the 18th of September our parent representatives Emma and Tasha were invited to attend the Sanctuary Housing coffee morning.
The team at Sanctuary Housing hold coffee mornings to offer peer support to their staff who have Neurodivergent children and young people, and for those who would like to find out more about neurodivergences in general to be able to support their colleagues, family and friends.
It was a great sucess with over 20 Sanctuary Housing staff attending.
Emma and Tasha welcomed attendees, explained who they are and what Hull Parent Carer Forum do. Attendees were able to talk openiy in a safe space, speak to other parents who were expereincing similar challenges and issues, which then enabled Emma and Tasha to share infomation, resources and signpost to other service and organisations.
Some attendees had 1-1 sessions with the reps too.
We just want to thank Sanctuary housing for invting us in and we think the work they are doing to support parent carers and neurodivergent staff is really positive!
