What to expect

A friendly, informal morning

When you arrive, a member of our team will welcome you and check you in.

  • Meet other SEND parent carers
  • Ask questions and share experiences or tips
  • Find out about local SEND services and support
  • Access information, resources and signposting
  • Speak to our parent representatives and ambassadors
  • Or simply enjoy a cuppa and some company
Tea, coffee and refreshments are provided.

There is no expectation to speak or share anything you do not want to. It is completely fine to listen, take a break, or leave early.

Visiting services

Meet local services in a relaxed setting

We sometimes invite services and practitioners to join us. You can find out more about their support, ask questions, and share your experiences and feedback directly with professionals.

We will announce visiting services on Facebook and Ticket Tailor before each session.

Accessibility and support

We can help you feel comfortable attending

Holderness House has lift access into the building. Once inside, the event space is on one level with easy access.

Would walking in alone feel difficult?

We can arrange for someone from our team to meet you in the car park and come into the session with you.

Ask us to meet you

Children

Children are welcome

The sessions and environment are not specifically set up for children with SEND, so they may not suit every child. Children must remain supervised by their parent carer at all times.

Cost

Free to attend

Funding allows us to subsidise these sessions. You can make a voluntary donation when booking or at an event, but there is absolutely no obligation to donate.

You are not alone

Do not navigate SEND alone

Being a parent carer can feel isolating, and navigating SEND services is not always easy. Coffee & Chat is a chance to connect with people who understand in a relaxed, non-judgmental space.
